Physical Education

In physical education pupils will have the opportunity to:

  • Master basic movements including running, jumping, throwing and catching, as well as developing balance, agility and co-ordination, and begin to apply these in a range of activities
  • Participate in team games, developing simple tactics for attacking and defending
  • Perform dances using simple movement patterns

Pupils will be able to develop their skills as athletes by:

  • Understanding the importance of a healthy lifestyle
  • Taking part in a range of sports and learn how to use different equipment
  • Practising skills such as throwing, catching, running…
  • Using their body to balance, stretch, move in different ways
  • Evaluating and improving their performance
  • Being physically active and increasing their stamina
  • Working as part of a team
